• Human Rights

The Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation in the Baltic states is actively engaged in the area of human rights. A number of subjects, such as equality of the sexes, rights of ethnic minorities, as well as fighting racism and homophobia are addressed at seminars, workshops and summer schools.

The FEF supports the activities of various NGOs in the Baltic states, which speak out for general human rights and the rights of individual groups. In this regard, the cooperation with women’s and youth organisations in the area of human rights must be mentioned.

In addition, the FEF in the Baltic states works with and brings together state and government institutions, international subsidiaries, as well as national and international research institutions. Pluralism and tolerance are essential in a developed human rights culture. For this reason the FEF cooperates also with the Parliaments of the Baltic states.
